Travel To BUHI, Camarines Sur: Its More Fun in The Philippines

If you want to be in a peaceful calm place for your vacation, Buhi, Camarines Sur is the place to be. Buhi is a small town in the province of Camarines Sur ( BICOL Region). Its very near in Naga City and Legazpi City.It is a 10 hour bus ride from Metro Manila by PhilTraCo and Elavil buses and other provincial busses. Almost 400 km in distance. But I assure you that your effort will be very worthy. The town of Buhi can offer you unlimited fun, very peaceful, and a sure place for relaxation.

There is a myth in Buhi about an GOLDEN BELL that is thrown away in the lake by the Christian Priest to protect it from the hand of the Filipino Guerrilla.

There are many beliefs that the people in Buhi is from Albay. They say that when the Mayon Volcano erupted the people flee the raging volcano and take shelter to a remote place away from the volcano, and the people settle there for good they call it NAKABUHI which means "escape" later on the place name was shortened and they called it BUHI.

The town have many Resort and Hotel you can choose from. And you know what is the best thing?..its very affordable!!!!

Ive been here in this resort, and it is huge and beautiful. Very calm and relaxing.

LAKE BUHI RESORT

This place is a little remote. But this one is also beautiful. I've been here many times in, summer this place is crowded.

                                                              BALERITE RESORT

There is more than half a dozen of resort and hotel you can check in this small town.

If you want more nature and adventurous places to go, Buhi can offer you unlimited places for Nature lover. Here is some of them:

Itbog Falls is one of the tourist destination in Buhi it is a twin falls almost 25 meter in height, You can access to this awesome place by a one and a half walk in a mountain side or you can rent a motor boat for 150 pesos ($3). It will just take 15 minutes of water transport  and 15 minute of walking after. Ive been to this falls many times I preferred walking cause it is more adventurous, there are many sightings along the way. You will know when you are near the falls because you will feel the sudden changes of air temperature 3 km away you can feel the chilling air and the heavy humidity of environment. The time you arrive at the place you will see a huge place. the fog surrounding it. At first it will make you feel strange but soon you will overcome it. I will remind you that the water here is cold. Its like paradise on Earth.

  ITBOG TWIN FALLS

I've been here when I am 10 years old. Very long time ago. This is a small falls located at the across the lake. A 30 minute ride of the boat, it will take you to this amazing place. A cold and clean water will be your reward. I recommending this place for children cause it is very shallow.

BAYBAY FALLS

If  you love hiking you do it in Mt. Asog. Just 3 hours of hiking you can see this crater. Fantastic view of the whole town and the lake can be seen here.

                                                                       MT. ASOG

This the view of Mt. Asog and Lake Buhi. There is a scientific base story that the lake appear when the volcano erupted. Some also said that the Lake Buhi and Mt. Asog are connected under.

    LAKE BUHI and MT. ASOG

This is a floating house in the Lake buhi. But this not a home for a family. This is a temporary place for the person watching the fish cages. They sleep here but they don't live here. But if you have a access you can hangout here and enjoy the scenery of the place. Most of the Buhinon do their living by fishing and farming.

Lake Buhi is a protected place by the local government. You can find here the smallest edible fish in the world! No kidding, it is called by the locals as SINARAPAN or TABIUS . It is so small that when you put in 10 centavos coin it will look like its the same size as the number one in the coin. And also Lake Buhi is home for a Tilapia that I can say, the most delicious variety I've ever tasted.

The small Town of Buhi have 4 parish churches. The St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Paul the Apostle Parish, San Vicente Ferrer Parish and Nuestra Senora de la Solidad Parish. This one of them the  St. Francis of Assisi Parish which is located at the Town center.

  17. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.. A lot of things to be found in Camarines Sur, eh?

Honestly, the place is familiar, but is still undiscovered by many. Pero knowing that the province bags a lot of scenery, then, it's not a waste of time going here, eh?
